I had the opportunity to work with Josh during the summer of 2013 when he was tasked with designing a pair of glasses that could house six webcams as part of an engineering project. In addition to teaching Josh how to use the parametric modeling program OpenSCAD, we also spent a significant amount of time discussing the value of iteration in the design process, and the importance of version management. After more than a month of design and printing Josh was able to present a working prototype to the Engineering Department which was subsequently used as a testbed for the latest generation of their visually impaired path-finding software.
