I was born in Syracuse New York and, with the exception of five years in Boise Idaho, I've spent the majority of my life in the northeastern United States. My upbringing was an eclectic mix of science magazines and hunting, long road trips listening to NPR and Catholic mass every sunday. As a result I find myself interested in a broad range of ideas which often make their way into my art in one form or another. Having recently graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art’s MFA in Photography and Digital Imaging program, I have returned to New England in the hopes of launching the next phase of my professional and artistic career. While the current economic crisis has dampened these ambitions somewhat, I continue to produce new work from my family’s home in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. My current work represents an expansion of the ideas I first began exploring in graduate school, namely the intersections that exist between art, science, religion and technology.
