This weekend I am attending The Next HOPE in New York City. With any luck many of you who are reading this are here because of the dead-tree identification (*cough* business cards) I handed out at the conference. For those of you who aren't conference related traffic, The Next HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth) is part of a conference series that represents an intersection of hacker and maker cultures. The end result is a grueling three day conference with panels on everything from interactive sensor development and lock picking to teledildonics and e-waste programs (not to mention a vast array of internet security related talks that I can only understand on the most rudimentary levels).
In anticipation of this big event I have been making a real push to have my website fully online in time for the conference. I have missed this mark by a substantial margin. However, I have made significant progress on the Portfolio section (which is by far the most content intensive area of the website) which I encourage you to check out. There's still a moderate amount of content missing, but I hope to have the last of it online in the next week or two, so please keep checking back often.
It took a little longer than I had hoped, but the About section is ready for prime time. Check it out for an updated bio, CV, teaching history, contact page and links section. In order to get the text formatting right on the CV, teaching history and contact page I ended up embedding pdfs rather than using actual text. Please let me know if you have any issues viewing the content as a result. Also feel free to contact me with your thoughts and opinions on the site...I always appreciate feedback.
